What is Hurdle?
Hurdle is a daily word game that challenges you to solve not just one puzzle, but a series of five. Each of the first four puzzles works like Wordle: you have six tries to guess a secret five-letter word, with colored tiles showing if your letters are correct, misplaced, or absent. The twist comes in the fifth and final round: the “ultimate hurdle.” It begins pre-filled with the first four answers, but you only get two chances to solve it. Smart strategy, sharp vocabulary, and a bit of luck are the keys to victory.
How and Where to Play Hurdle
Hurdle is available to play for free on Arkadium and is especially popular on AARP Games, where social features like leaderboards make it even more fun. Each day, a new set of five five-letter words awaits your solving skills.
How to Play Hurdle:
- Start Guessing: Enter any five-letter word to begin.
- Color Feedback, similar to Wordle:
Green: Letter is correct and in the right spot.
Yellow: Letter exists in the word, but in the wrong position.
Grey: Letter isn’t in the word. Eliminate and refine! - Process of Elimination: Use the colored tiles to adjust your next guesses.
The Five-Puzzle Challenge:
- Puzzles 1–4: Standard daily puzzles with six attempts each and building on the previous word.
- Puzzle 5 – The Final Hurdle: Pre-filled with the previous four answers, which means more hints, but you only get two guesses to solve it.
