About Connections Sports Edition

The New York Times has launched an exciting new version of Connections called Connections Sports Edition! This special twist on the popular logic and trivia game centers around sports-related terms and categories, making it a delightful challenge for sports fans. Currently in beta, this edition marks the first collaboration between The New York Times and The Athletic, which was recently acquired by the Times. For now, you can exclusively find it on The Athletic, as it’s not part of the NYT Games app or website yet.

How to Play

In Connections Sports Edition, your goal is to find groups of four items that share a common theme. To play, simply select four items and tap 'Submit' to check if your guess is correct. Be careful not to make more than three mistakes while uncovering the groups!

Each puzzle has a unique solution, so watch out for words that might fit into multiple categories. As you solve the puzzle, each group will be color-coded based on its difficulty level.

When to Play

Daily puzzles are released at midnight in your time zone.
